You definitely already know what happened if we brandishing wands and shouted, "Avada Kedavra". Or what incantation that we must going to say if we want to open the locked door? ("Alohomora!"). But, do u ever thought that J.K Rowling, the Harry Potter book author, obviously he didn't origin make incantations, all of the incantations in Hogwarts apparently had origins, and in the average is derived from the Latin language.
Accio
This incantation it used to called a thing. "Accio glass", and the glass will fly and come to your direction. And so on. The 'ACCIO' word apparently is from the Latin languange that means is "I calling".

Avada Kedavra
This incantation is the most evil and can killed people. Harry Potter's parents were dead because of this incantation. In Aramaic languange, 'Avada Kedavra' means 'I will destroy as I speak'  . The sound is like 'Abracadabra', which is the ancient incantation from second century that often use to call the evil spirits to asked for protection.

Crucio

This incantation also the evil incantation that usually use to torture people. In Latin languange, 'crucio' means 'I torture'.

Expecto Patronum 

This is Harry Potter's mainstay incantation when he was in action. The function is to slip off the wand from enemy's hand. This incantation is taken from Latin languange 'expellere' means 'take out or let down', and 'arma' means 'weapon' .

Impedimenta

'impedimenta' in Latin languange means 'obstruction'. This incantation usually use to make an obstacle for the enemy's action become slower than before. 

 
Lumos
'Lumos' means 'light'. This incantation usually make the tip of wand become light like a candle.

Rictusempra
'sempra' derived from the word 'sempre' means 'always', whereas 'rictum' means mouth/open jaw. This incantation used for make the enemy become laughing continuosly. 


Sectusempra 
This incantation precisely the opposite of rictusempra. The effect from this incantation is not to make enemy become laugh but sectusempra make the enemy has injuries, because in Latin languange 'sectum' means 'hurt/injure' .

Stupefy
This incantation also used for war, because, the effect is not make injure. Just make confuse dan daze. Yap, that's  normal because in English, 'stupefy' means 'dazed'

Wingardium Leviosa
